I live back and forth between Texas and Illinois. While I was up north, my plants and flowers pretty much look dead. What are the best plants and flowers that can best survive the climate here during my absences? My neighbors are great to help, but I hate to impose on them too much. Thanks

I think the best choices would be drought tolerant perennials. Here's a list - just click on the name of the plant and you'll see a photo.
