It would be best for your Don Juan to wait until it goes into dormancy this winter before you dig it up and transport it to Florida. As a climber, your rose will probably need to be pruned back before you transport it and you can cut it back prior to digging. In Florida, Don Juan begins flowering as soon as the first week of April. Enjoy!
