The Q&A Archives: Removing String from Snap Peas

Question: My Burpee Sugar Snap Peas are growing beautifully but I am unsure how to successfully remove the string before eating.

Answer: It doesn't take long to acquire the skill. Hold the pod in one hand and firmly grasp the stem with your other thumb and forefinger. Bend the stem back and pull down, all in one motion. It's almost like finding a zipper! The stem and the string should come off the pod all in one piece. You may have to practice once or twice, but you'll catch on in no time. Enjoy!
