| I have planted a persimmon tree for a month now. The tree came with about 10 small persimmons on it. I shocked the root a little bit when I planted it. Now it looks sick with some brown tips on some leaves. What sould I do to make sure it will grow? I have added fertilizer and more water. It's still not healthy looking but surviving so far. | Persimmon trees are quite adaptable and as long as the soil drains well (doesn't remain soggy), your tree should be happy in a container. Be careful when you feed a containerized plant - too much fertilizer can burn the leaves. When you feed your persimmon, use a water soluable fertilizer such as Miracle Gro and dilute it to half strength. Feed every 4 weeks during the growing season. It may be that you overfed your plant or you are overwatering. Either can cause browning tips on the leaves. I'd water the tree thoroughly and then let the top half inch of soil dry out before watering again. Hope this information helps! |
