Pruning is the best way to renovate your knock out roses. You can prune dead branches out at any time. Renewal pruning can be done now and again in the early spring. Between the two pruning sessions you should be able to coax your roses into an attractive shape and form with the bonus of lots of flowers because knock out roses develop flowers on new growth. Don't be afraid to prune these plants back hard. They will respond with lots of healthy new growth. Enjoy your garden!
