| I recently purchased garlic spray concentrate, but the label says not to put in on when there are blooms. If I put it on at the beginning of the growing season, won't it be ineffective by the time it's really needed when there are blooms and fruits? What is the best approach when using the product? |
| Garlic sprays keep lots of destructive insects away but doesn't seem to harm beneficial insects. In order to be effective, it must be sprayed 2-5 times during the growing season. The caution about spraying when crops are in bloom is simply that it will repel bees for up to 3 hours after application. If your crops need to be pollinated, it would be best to use the spray late in the afternoon or very early in the morning, so that the time the bees are repelled is kept to a minimum. This will ensure pollination of the flowers on your plants. |
