The Q&A Archives: Why does my yard grow

Question: I have spots in the yard missing grass. It was new sod 3 years ago and still want re seed itself. i have layed new seed and i have put fritaizler down a week ago and still nothing

Answer: Spring and fall are the best times to reseed lawns. If you sow seed and then cover them with a thin layer of compost or peat moss, and keep them watered often enough to keep them constantly moist, the seeds will sprout in 7-10 days. If the seeds dry out while they are trying to sprout, they will die. So wait until this fall when temperatures are cooler and your new seed should sprout right away.
