It is now the middle of the summer and my pole beans and cucumbers seem to have dried up in the hot sun even though I give them plenty of water. What can I plant now that will take the heat?

Even warm season veggies have a hard time growing in your summer heat! Wait until the end of August and plant more veggies. Beans and cucumbers can be planted then and harvested in November. Tomatoes, summer squash and leaf lettuces will also be ready for harvest in the fall if sown in late August. About the only things you can plant now are okra and lima beans. Good luck with your garden!
