Our green beans are not turning green and some are actually shriveling up and look like they are dying. Should we pick them off the plants? They are like a yellowy color. |
Green beans prefer to grow in the spring and early summer months. I think yours are reacting to the mid-summer heat. I'd pick off the shriveling and yellowing beans to see if the plant will produce new beans. You may need to pick these while they are small, before heat stress gets to them. Or, wait until late August and plant new seeds. You should be able to harvest lots of beans before cold weather sets in. Best wishes with your green beans. |
