Most university extension offices recommend feeding a lawn 4 times per year: April, June, September and late November or early December. If you'd like to cut down on fertilizer applications, the most important times to feed are June and late November or early December. Turfgrasses usually have enough stored energy to grow lush and thick in the early spring but need a little boost in June to get it through the summer months. The late fall/early winter application will help fortify the roots so they remain healthy throughout the winter months. Hope this answers your question! |
