I would like to remove and transplant 6 in ground Hydrangeas to large ceramic pots. These plants are 3+ years, will they survive? Please advise |
Three year old hydranges will have large root systems. Expect the majority of the roots to be in the top 12-18" of soil and extend out at least as far as the longest branches. December and January are the best times to prune them back and dig them up. They should survive the move, just take it slow as easy so you don't damage too many roots. Good luck with the move! |
