| Calaloo, also known as Vegetable Amaranth, or, Amaranthus tricolor is available in seed form from Johnny's Select Seeds at ph. 207-437-4301. Calaloo is very heat tolerant, it grows in heat that other "greens" such as spinach won't tolerate. It must be sown in warm soil (70F). Leaves are picked individually, and terminal buds should be pinched to encourage side branching. |
