I just planted new guinea impatients. it says I should water everyday. Right now I have done it every other day because the soil is very damp to wet to the touch (under the mulch). I don't want to over water, but was not sure if I should really be watering everyday. Im new to gardening. Thank you!

You're on the right track! It's important to check the soil moisture before automatically watering. New Guinea impatiens like moist soil but not soggy wet soils. If the soil remains too wet it can suffocate the roots. So, keep checking the soil moisture and watering every other day or as needed. I'm sure your plants with thrive with your TLC.
