| My sego houseplant only puts oyt 2 new fronds about every 3 years and the older 2 look like they are dieing so I have been cutting them off. Why doesn't my plant have a lot of fronds at one time? |
| Sago palms are extremely slow growing and usually only put out two or three new fronds each year. The older fronds usually last 4-5 years. If they turn brown they can be cut off but as long as they are green they are useful to the plant so just leave them alone. Make sure your sago is getting bright light. Some direct sunshine is helpful but not required. You can place your sago outdoors during the summer months. Put it in a shaded but brightly lit area and it will become a deeper green, but it won't grow any faster. That's just the way the are! Best wishes with your sago! |
