My home faces north and the bed is 6ft deep. The east end of the bed gets a little sun at sun-up and the west end gets some at sunset but the center never gets any direct sunlight. So far all I've been able to grow is some fountain grass a couple of Privet shrubs,a Vinca major vine and a bush that was marked

Have you tried Duranta and Corkscrew vine? Both will grow and flower in shade and while they love to climb up a trellis, they can also be trained into a shrub shape. Irises and daylilies will bloom with a little morning sun, guara with some afternoon sunshine. I'm sure there are lots of other plants... Enjoy!
