i just brought 6 dwarf crape myrtle from local home depot they were in bloom and now they are finished can i cut the dead stems and fertilize the plants pls let me know how to to handle this thank you

You can prune your crape myrtles back as soon as the flowers are spent. They will respond with new growth and very possibly new flowers a little later in the season. You can lightly feed your plants (don't overdo it because they will need a chance to establish their roots in their new garden spots). Just use a liquid foliar fertilizer such as Miracle Gro to give them a boost. Enjoy your new plants!
