i just brought 6 dwarf crape myrtle from local home depot they were in bloom and now they are finished can i cut the dead stems and fertilize the plants pls let me know how to to handle this thank you |
You can prune your crape myrtles back as soon as the flowers are spent. They will respond with new growth and very possibly new flowers a little later in the season. You can lightly feed your plants (don't overdo it because they will need a chance to establish their roots in their new garden spots). Just use a liquid foliar fertilizer such as Miracle Gro to give them a boost. Enjoy your new plants! |
