I have had really good success with my first planting of carrots, but I wish I had planted more. Can I still plant them as a fall crop? I have close to 3 months left to first frost. |
Congratulations on your success! You may still be able to grow some; the rule of thumb for an ongoing supply is to sow every three weeks up until about ten weeks before frost. To accelerate things, you may wish to pre-germinate the seed by putting it between damp paper towels inside a plastic bag (leave it slightly open), and storing it in a warm place, such as on top of your refrigerator. Plant them out when you see white root tips showing. Good luck with your fall crop! |
