The Q&A Archives: hosta growth

Question: When younger hosta plants send up their flower stems I cut them off. My reasoning is less stress and greater energy conservation leads to better/quicker and fuller growth. Your comments/sugestions please!

Answer: I agree! Besides, the flowers aren't all that spectacular or even very attractive. I do the same - cut off the flowering stalk and allow the plant to put its energy into developing more foliage. Enjoy your hostas!
