Roses need lots of sunshine, rich well draining soil, deep watering and frequent feeding. If your plants look sickly, they're not getting the TLC they need. Start by making sure they get a deep soaking once or twice a week and they are fed every 4-6 weeks with a rose fertilizer. Cut them back by about one third to encourage healthy new growth.
