my begonias planted in the garden look great. but the ones i have planted in pots have their leaves turning brown around the edges. what causes this. and how can i get the potted ones to grow as big as the ones in the yard. thanks

Plants in containers can become burned by over fertilization, salts can build up in the soil, and roots can overheat in containers, all of which can cause browning leaf margins. Because the roots are contained in a small area in containers, the plants won't always grow as large as they might in the ground. Hope this answers your questions!
