When you add soil amendments such as Miracle Gro garden soil, it's important to dig the amendments into the native soil so they are well mixed. This will encourage roots to grow deep rather than stay in the amended soil. You can't changee the soil now that everything is planted, but you can water deeply when you do water, to encourage deep root growth. This will help your plants endure the weather.
