The Q&A Archives: osteospermum hybrid

Question: plant is getting leggy.what do I do? can I reproduce a new plant by pullimg a small part of the plant and putting the stem under but not cuttig it from the mother plant.I know it works with bushes and is foolproof

Answer: Cutting off the spent flowers will encourage branching of your osteospermum and make it look bushier. You can try layering the plant by pulling a stem down and anchoring it in the soil. It's worth a try, but osteospermum is usually propagated by division. I'd try layering a stem. It just might work!
