plant is getting leggy.what do I do? can I reproduce a new plant by pullimg a small part of the plant and putting the stem under but not cuttig it from the mother plant.I know it works with bushes and is foolproof

Cutting off the spent flowers will encourage branching of your osteospermum and make it look bushier. You can try layering the plant by pulling a stem down and anchoring it in the soil. It's worth a try, but osteospermum is usually propagated by division. I'd try layering a stem. It just might work!
