The Q&A Archives: Deep Shade

Question: What grass will grow in deep shade we have tried almost everything

Answer: I'm afraid no grass variety will grow in deep shade. Fescues are the most shade tolerant but even these will need to be reseeded every 2 years. A better solution is to plant a shade loving groundcover rather than turfgrass. A groundcover such as pachysandra or vinca are good plants for shady areas.
