My husband just bought me an Ornamental Japanese Maple. Any tips on how/where to plant for great success? Does it have to be planted in part sun or would it do ok in full sun?

Japanese maples grow best in morning sun and filtered afternoon shade. Full afternoon sun will cause the leaves to lose color and the margins to turn crispy brown. Find a site where an azalea or rhododendron would be happy and your Japanese maple will thrive there as well. They like acidic, moist soils. Enjoy your new maple tree!
