I am trying to beautify the back yard, but there are lots and lots of rocks and sand. I'm working on a budget, and have no real way of hauling anything. Any suggestions on how to get rid of them or at least hide them? Thank you!

Maybe the best approach is to choose plants that thrive in rocky garden situations (also called shallow soil plants). Choosing plants such as succulents, cacti and other drought tolerant plants means you won't have to replace or amend your soil. There are literally hundreds of possibilities so rather than try to list them all, here's an excellent website for ideas: http://www.highcountrygardens....

Best wishes with your new garden~
