| Your turf will benefit from a good soaking rather than frequent sprinklings. Apply 1 inch of water per week. To test how long it takes your sprinklers to deliver an inch of water, set several tuna or cat food cans out on the lawn and run your sprnklers for 15 minutes. Then measure the water in the cans. This will give you a good idea how long you need to run your sprinklers to deliver an inch of water. You can divide the delivery in half and water twice a week during the summer months.
