My gooseberry bushes are vigorous but have had no blossoms after three years. The same applies to my red currant bush. Is this because they do not fruit well in this area?

Both gooseberries and currants are members of the Ribes family and have the same cultural requirements. They produce best in the Northwest, in zones 3-6. Your plants may never produce berries, but they're attractive as ornamental shrubs, so why not keep them where they are and hope for a crop when the weather is just right?
