I have that referenced plant. Should I plant it in the soil or in a big pot? Also, it is an ever green. If I decide to put it in a big pot, should I bring the pot in the house for the winter?

The Chicago Botanic Garden grows 20 different types of lavenders outdoors in the ground. The plants are not always evergreen and often need to be pruned down each spring, but they grow very well outdoors. I'd plant it in a sunny spot outside and enjoy it. Make sure the soil drains quickly. Lavender doesn't like wet feet. It should thrive for you outdoors in a sunny spot that drains well. Enjoy!
