The Q&A Archives: Removing unwanted annuals

Question: I have annuals that have very deep roots. How can I remove them or kill them w/o having to dig up the roots?

Answer: Try cutting the tops down at ground level. Annuals usually grow, flower, set seeds and die. They generally do not resprout once the tops of the plants are cut down. Give it a try - hope it works for you.
