The Q&A Archives: no blooms yet on Hydrangea

Question: My bush is beautiful, but no flowers. what can I do.

Answer: Hydrangeas can fail to flower if they are immature, are getting too much shade, or are pruned down to ground level (or frozen down to ground level each winter). Big Leaf Hydrangeas bloom on new wood which develops on old wood. Hope this provides some clues!
