Avocado trees go through a natural thinning process at this time of year so the dropping fruit may not indicate a problem. However, fruit drop can indicate a root stress problem. I do think you are watering too much, though. Avocado trees are best watered by flooding the soil once a week or every 10 days during the summer months. Instead of watering twice a week, reduce the frequency to once a week and be sure to apply the water slowly so it has a chance to soak in and wet the entire root system. Good luck with your avocado tree!
