The Q&A Archives: Plants for Planting

Question: I have an area to the east or southeast section of my house (planter box) a e best plants to plant in that location. I live in the desert Southwest. The previous owner planted rose bushes and aloe vera (century plant) which I removed. Thank you. Diana Michaels

Answer: Lots of plants will grow in the area. Roses actually do quite well in the desert, but hibiscus, dwarf bird of paradise, lantana, Baja fairy duster, cassia, emu, yellow bells and Mexican honeysuckle also grow well in Phoenix. Hope these suggestions are helpful.
