I recently bought a young plum tree at Home Depot and it already has pinholes in the leaves and some kind of bug I believe is making a powdery cocoon on one of the branches almost every night. I keep removing the powder but it keeps appearing again on the same branch or one nearby. What can I do about these two problems? Will Sevin Dust work on a plum tree? |
If it is spinning a cocoon it's probably a caterpillar and you can use Bt (sold as Dipel or Thuricide) on your tree. Don't use Sevin - it's lethal to bees. Bt is harmless to insects but will control caterpillars. Good luck with your new plum tree. |
