The Q&A Archives: Stella D'Oro Lillies

Question: They are beautiful in early July, but now the flowers ahve gone by and the plants leaves are turning brown. Can they be trimmed back or cut down? They are along a walk... and the dead vegetitation is very sloppy and just a harbor for snails..HELP?

Answer: You can cut them down and remove the dead foliage. I suspect they will develop new leaves in a few weeks. You can control snails and slugs with the iron based product called Sluggo.
