The Q&A Archives: bleeding heart

Question: Can I cut my bleeding heart off? How short can I cut it? Thanks

Answer: The foliage on bleeding heart usually dies down on its own by mid-summer. While the foliage is there it is transporting energy to the roots of the plant. Don't cut it back - allow it to die down on its own.
