| If digging the entire plant is not in her plans, your daughter can take stem cuttings and root them in moistened potting soil. Take a 4-6" stem with a healthy growing tip - preferably one that has not flowered - strip the lower leaves but leave the top leaves attached. Dip the cut end in rooting hormone and set it in a container of moistened potting soil so that one or two leaf nodes (leaf scars) are in the soil. You can set several cuttings in a single container. Keep the potting soil moist and the cuttings should root in 4-6 weeks. Good luck with the project! |
