| one of my recently planted potatoes has been thriving until just a couple of weeks ago, a white bug about the length of about 1/10 of a centimeter. they produce eggsa little bit smaller than the size of the bug. these eggs can cover the whole bottom of a leaf, but never go on the top of the leaf. the eggs are white, and when rubbed, have a black center. what can i do to get rid of these bugs? |
| The small white flying pests are probably white flies. They feed by sucking the fluids out of the tissues of the leaves and can be a real challenge to control because they fly when disturbed. The best approach is repeated sprays of insecticidal soap, sprayed in the early morning or late evening when the insects are at rest. Be sure to apply to both the upper and lower sides of the leaves for best control. Good luck with your plants! |
