Banana tree - Knowledgebase Question

What kind of soil do I need to place my new dwarf cavendish banana tree in? The tag not to use standard topsoil, to use amended soil. Also should I feed right away?

If planting outdoors, mix some compost, aged manure or shredded leaf compost into the planting hole. If planting in a container, use standard potting soil. Don't feed until your banana plant becomes established in its new home. You can feed in early spring to promote healthy new growth. Best wishes with your new banana tree!
