I'am planning to put plants in my home have 3 boys a 1 year old,6 & 8 year old wich plants would be good? I already have two areca palms is that a safe one? I also have one Dieffenbachia. I also would like to put more in my home and need help on how to care for them.

There are a number of houseplants you may want to avoid if you have young children and pets. The following website has a list of plants to avoid:

The best way to care for houseplants is to choose those that thrive under the conditions you can provide, from bright light to low light. Keep them watered when the soil begins to dry out and you should be successful. Lack of sufficient light and overwatering are the two most common reasons houseplants die. You can start with some really sturdy plants such as cast iron plant and ivy. Both are easy to grow.
