my shasta daisies have blooms on them that have turned black. leaves still green. are they dying?

If the flowers themselves have turned black, prune them off the plant, along with the flowering stem. They can develop a fungus if the weather has been rainy or it you water from overhead. The best approach is to prune them off. I'm sure your plant will be just fine.
