We have a steep hill... rock and clay... at our lake house in central AL that gets lots of sun(morning & most of the day) . This is a weekend retreat, so not much watering on a regular basis. Any ideas for a ground cover, shrubs, etc? Thanks so much!

I'd recommend using native plants. They are highly adaptable and usually get by with just annual rainfall. For best results plant them in the fall so fall and winter rains can help them become established. There are dozens and dozens of native plants from which to choose. Here's a list: http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/enviro...
