The Q&A Archives: Tomato Varieties for Partial Shade

Question: Can you recommend a tomato variety that would be suitable for partial shade? Rebekah Dey Raleigh, NC

Answer: Most tomatoes require at least 6 hours of sunshine to produce abundant fruit. With your long growing season and intense sunshine you should be able to get plenty of fruit. You might try a slightly earlier variety such as Heatwave II (available from Burpee).
