The fungus is growing because of the shade and the soil moisture. There's nothing you can apply to the soil to stop the fungus that won't harm your plants so the best approach is to rake or hoe the area to break up the soil and incorporate some fresh air. Raking doesn't have to be vigorous or deep, just enough to break up the fungus and stir the top of the soil up a little. Good luck with your garden!
