The Q&A Archives: Yellow leaves with brown spots

Question: My pepper plant's leaves are turning yellow with brown spots. Then the leaves fall off. What might be the problem?

Answer: Yellowing leaves can indicate over watering or lack of nutrients or can be the first symptom of a fungal or bacterial disease. I can't really diagnose the problem without seeing the leaves so I can only offer general advice. Pull or pinch off the affected leaves, try to keep water off the tops of the plants; if you haven't fed recently, try a water soluable plant food such as Miracle Gro; water deeply but allow the top of the soil to dry out between waterings. Hope this information is helpful!
