my endless hydrangeas are wilted after a hardy watering. Should I cut flowers off now? Will they grow back until frost? Help. Ursula |
You can prune off the spent flowers whenever they appear. Endless Summer hydrangeas develop flowers on new growth so pruning your plant back will encourage new growth, and more flowers. The wilting might be due to overly saturated soils. When soils are soggy they exclude oxygen, something the roots of your hydrangea needs. So, water deeply but infrequently so the soil has a chance to dry out between waterings. Good luck with your hydrangea! |
