The Q&A Archives: Red Yucca Plants

Question: When should red yucca plants be trimmed back?

Answer: H. parviflora (Red Yucca) is not a yucca at all, but closely related to the yucca genus. Red Yucca is native to the Chihuahuan desert and it grows in USDA zones 5-10. You can prune off the dead flower stalks and remove any yellowing foliage at the base of the plant at any time of year.
