Answer: Roses grow and flower best in full sunshine. If yours is not getting at least 8 hours of sun a day, that could be why. You call it a rose vine so I'm guessing it is a climbing rose. If so, it should be pruned back. Climbing roses develop flowers on lateral (side) branches. If you don't prune, all the growth will be up rather than to the sides and there won't be any laterals on which flowering stems will grow. So, prune yours back in the spring, make sure it gets adequate sunshine, and feed every 6 weeks beginning in early spring. Hope this helps!
