my basil plant has flowered already. Should I destroy that plant and plant new ones? I heard that once it flowers, the taste is not good anymore.

Same question for oregano.

It's true, once basil and oregano flower, the plants will die. You can collect seeds and replant them or you can set out new transplants. I'd wait until September, though, when the weather cools down a bit. Hot weather can make herbs bolt.
