The Q&A Archives: water lilly

Question: leaves of water lillies grow only about 3 inches in diameter and then they are dying. This is a recent problem, I never had this problem before

Answer: If the lilies are in a container, they may be running out of room for root growth. In this case simply divide and repot them. If they are not in containers but are planted directly in the soil, the small leaf size may be due to cool weather, lack of sufficient sunshine, or a need for ferilizer. Good luck with your water lilies!
