Hi.

I know that Hostas love shade. However, I have a long border and one end is sunny where some hostas will be.
Which hostas last the longest in the sun? Dark green, or light green? What are the names of these?
Thanks, Dorian

Generally, dark green and blue Hostas will do better in more shade because they have more chlorophyll. Varieties in my gardens which can handle all day sun are 'August Moon', 'Albo-marginata', 'Sun Power', 'Invincible', 'Royal Standard', 'Honeybells', 'Peal Lake', and 'Francee'. I'm sure there are others. In general, the lighter the leaf color, the more sun tolerant you can expect them to be.
